The Bureau of Engraving and Printing's Western Currency Facility showcases four exhibits on U.S. paper currency. Visitors can see engravers at work, watch mutilated currency be reconstructed piece by piece, see how currency was printed around 1900 on a refurbished spider press, and learn how intaglio printing plates are "grown" in a nickel solution. Children ages 8 and older can engrave their very own currency designs in the Kid$ Corral. Free 45-minute guided tours of the facility also available. 9000 Blue Mound Road.
