Hear stories in a variety of genres on the grounds of the Live Oak County Courthouse. Approximately 15 professional storytellers and cowboy poets, as well as musicians, living history re-enactors and others are on hand to entertain audiences.
On the Friday evening before Storyfest, enjoy "Dobie Dichos: Campfires, Chili con Carne, and the Words of J. Frank Dobie" in historic Oakville. Tickets are required.
The main day of activity is Saturday, which begins with a 5K fun run/walk, followed by the Little Red Wagon Parade. One of the highlights of Storyfest is the Texas State Liars' Contest, now in its 10th year. Storytelling and music are featured on three stages throughout the day and into the evening, culminating with Ghost Stories after dark. A street dance with music by Two Tons of Steel close out the festival.
On Sunday morning, the Church of Christ hosts Sacred Stories.
