Houston Museum of Natural Science

Features space science, geology, archaeology and natural history. Of special interest are Burke Baker Planetarium, Wortham GIANT Screen Theatre, Cockrell Butterfly Center and a large variety of permanent exhibit areas that examine astronomy, space science, Native American culture, paleontology, energy, chemistry, gems and minerals, seashells, Texas wildlife and much more. Visitors also can explore the extraordinary objects in the 4,000-square-foot Cabinet of Curiosities exhibit. In addition, the museum presents traveling exhibitions on a variety of topics.
