This National Historic Landmark was established in 1853 when Capt. Richard King bought 68,500 acres of Spanish and Mexican land grants. Today, the ranch sprawls across 825,000 acres. It is a working ranch. Guided ranch, special interest and nature tours are offered by reservation. Group tours also are available.
King Ranch Visitor Center is open 10 a.m.-4 p.m. Mon.-Sat. and noon-5 p.m. Sun.
Entrance is immediately west of Kingsville off Texas 141.
