Mardi Gras Galveston

Mardi Gras was publicly observed on Galveston Island as early as 1867 but was discontinued during World War II. The Island's celebration was resurrected in 1985 and since then has become one of the most popular events along the Texas Gulf Coast. Includes 22 elaborate parades, more than 30 concerts, family events, feasting, 3 million beads and other festivities that epitomize Mardi Gras, island style.
