This Texas Historical Commission property, operated by the Admiral Nimitz Foundation, tells the story of the Pacific Theater battles of World War II. Its six-acre campus includes the Plaza of Presidents, Veterans' Walk of Honor and Memorial Wall, Japanese Garden of Peace, and Pacific Combat Zone. The Admiral Nimitz Museum in the historic Nimitz Hotel highlights Admiral Nimitz's life, career and key contributions. The George H.W. Bush Gallery contains a 34,000-square-foot exhibit of artifacts made famous during the Pacific war campaigns, as well as media-rich and interactive elements.
