RipFest

This festival is named for "Old Rip," the Texas horned lizard that is said to have survived 31 years in a time capsule in the cornerstone of the Eastland County Courthouse. Features a 5K run and kids' fun walk at 8 a.m., a parade, live entertainment on the square, more than 100 vendor booths, a car show, fish fry and bull riding. Downtown, 100 W. Main St.
