San Felipe de Austin State Historic Site

Stephen F. Austin founded San Felipe de Austin in 1823 as the capital of his settlement in Mexican Texas. Today, this Texas Historical Commission site is home to a new museum featuring unique objects, archeological artifacts, multimedia displays and outdoor tours of the historic landscape.
