SoundSpace: Sound Construction at the Blanton Museum

This installment of the Blanton's SoundSpace concert series explores tonal color and texture through the use of unconventional, newly constructed instruments and techniques. The concert will feature the premiere of a monumental new work for hand-built instruments and strings by noted Austin composer Travis Weller of the New Music Co-op as well as performances by Dan Lippel, solo guitarist of the International Contemporary Ensemble (ICE), Steven Snowden and Roslyn Nasky presenting a work for interactive electronics and dancers, and engineer/artist Sam Cusumano who extracts data from living biological materials and translates it to music.
