Addison's origins date to the Republic of Texas, when the area was settled as part of Peters' Colony. Today, this city 15 minutes north of Dallas is known for numerous dining and entertainment options. The Addison Arts and Events District features a water garden and event venues. Annual events include Fork and Cork in May, the Addison Kaboom Town! Independence Day celebration and Oktoberfest.
