Boerne (pronounced BER-nee) was founded by German settlers who aspired to create their own version of Thomas Moore's Utopia. Boerne is rich with German heritage, including the annual Berges Fest in June and The Boerne Village Band's summer Abendkonzerte series. The Kendall County courthouse is the second oldest Texas courthouse in continual use. Enjoy swimming, fishing and water activities at Boerne City Lake Park. Recreational equipment rental is available during the peak season.

Events include the Kendall County Fair, Weihnachts Parade, Dickens on Main, Boerne Market Days, Parade of Artists, Key to the Hills Rod Run, Texas Hill Country Fall Fine Art Show, Hauptstrasse Quiltfest and Texas Corvette Show.
