Best known as the hometown of President Lyndon B. Johnson, this city is the seat of Blanco County. It was named for the pioneer Johnson family, ancestors of the president. Nestled between Austin and San Antonio at U.S. 281 and 290, the town also is becoming known for world-class artists moving into the area.

Events include the Texas Men's State Chili Cookoff in March, the July 4th Spangle Dangle, the "We Got Yer Goat Cookoff" in September, the Wild Game Dinner and the Johnson City Pig Roast in October, and Lights Spectacular from November-December. Includes Wi-Fi service.
