Llano is a Main Street Town, its downtown square is a designated National Historical District. The historic Lantex Theater still shows first-run movies and visitors enjoy the Llano Country Opry. The historic Llano Red Top Jail can be seen at 400 Oatman St.
Llano is known as the "Deer Capital of Texas," and a Hunter Appreciation Event is held in November. Fishing in the Llano River and Highland Lakes is good year-round. And rock hounds may hunt for "Llanite" or pan for gold in the Llano River.
Most city and county parks offer camping, RV hookups, swimming, boat ramps, hiking and scenic views. Robinson City Park is on the Llano River and the Llano County Community Center (park) is on the west edge of town.
