Moulton was established at the headwaters of the Lavaca River. The city's Czech-German heritage is still evident. Several historical markers are found in the city, as well as the original Old Moulton town site before it was moved closer to the railroad. Quaint storefronts are reminiscent of the late 1800s. Bed-and-breakfast accommodations are available. The Annual Moulton Town and Country Jamboree is held in July.
