This San Patricio County seat was established in 1885. The town has unique shops, antiques stores, and a very large squirrel statue outside Aunt Aggie De's Pralines Candy Store. Texas Heritage and American Independence murals are at Jackson Square. The Rob and Bessie Welder Park is a 300-acre park with an 18-hole municipal golf course, 60-space RV Park, Little League baseball and soccer complexes, fishing pier, bird watching and basketball courts.
