The Bastrop Juneteenth Celebration committee has been observing the emancipation of African Americans and the contributions and accomplishments of local African American individuals for the past 36 years. The official celebration kicks off on Saturday with a parade down historic Main Street. The day continues with Family Freedom Festival at Fisherman's Park featuring live music, a DJ, food and small business vendors, kids and adult activities, and family competitions. A musical guest in the evening wraps up the festivities.
