The Old Settler’s Music Festival has grown from a one-day bluegrass festival in 1987 into a nationally renowned four-day event attracting loyal music fans. The 38th festival, taking place on a 145-acre ranch located 45 minutes south of Austin and 12 miles southeast of Lockhart, hosts musical acts that include local and national favorites such as Tony Kamel & Kym Warner, Steel Betty, all-female bluegrass band Sister Sadie, Wild Child, Harvest Thieves, Jeff Plankenhorn, Del Castillo Trio, the Travelin’ McCourys, Jack Barksdale, Heartless Bastards, Yonder Mountain String Band, and mandolin phenom Sierra Hull. The family-friendly includes on-site parking, kid’s activities, a variety of food offerings, and partially electrified campgrounds.
