Celebrate Texas Independence Day and Sam Houston's birthday in historic Huntsville. The day features a coffee reception at the Gibbs-Powell House at the Walker County Museum, and a gravesite ceremony honoring "the father of Texas" at Oakwood Cemetery; plus, music, speakers, the "baptized Texan" ceremony for new residents (register online to be included), and a luncheon hosted by the Walker County Historical Commission.
