Texas’s many theme parks offer attractions aimed at providing both heart-racing fun and plenty of family fun, providing memories that will be cherished for a lifetime.

Epic Waters Indoor Waterpark, Grand Prairie

Epic Waters is a year-round waterpark with a massive indoor collection of rides and attractions, as well as a summer-season wave pool. Challenge your friends on the E-Racer, practice your surfing skills on the Flowrider, and experience zero gravity on the Yellowjacket Drop, among multiple adrenaline-pumping options. Or chill in a cabana with a margarita and nachos if that’s more your speed.

Galveston Island Historic Pleasure Pier, Galveston Island

Situated on Galveston Island, Pleasure Pier offers scenery, ocean breezes, and high-speed action all in one place. The Iron Shark roller coaster, Pirate’s Plunge flume ride, and Texas Star Flyer accommodate thrill seekers, while younger kids flock to the carousel, Frog Hopper, and Texas Tea spinning cups. A 5-D theater ride and plenty of midway games round out the seaside attractions.

Great Wolf Lodge, Grapevine

Part vacation destination resort, part indoor water park, Great Wolf Lodge brings families together throughout the year with several soaking-wet sensations. Fort McKenzie is a four-story treehouse with lots of activities; Slap Tail Pond lets you float in the swells of the wave pool; River Canyon Run puts several people in one tube for its curvy water slide, and Howlin’ Tornado puts you on a six-story drop into the refreshing water below. An adults-only hot springs and seasonal outdoor pool add to the appeal.

Kemah Boardwalk, Kemah

Situated on the shores of Trinity Bay near Galveston Island, Kemah Boardwalk delivers a quintessential beachfront amusement park experience. Enjoy a single ride or spend all day sampling the low-key Wonder Wheel and Double Decker Carousel before working up to high-speed screams on Pharoah’s Fury, the Boardwalk Bullet wooden roller coaster, and the Iron Eagle, which soars more than 100 feet over the boardwalk.

Six Flags Over Texas and Hurricane Harbor Amusement Park, Arlington

The first-ever Six Flags theme park debuted in 1961, in Arlington, and has expanded to include 30 destination parks across the U.S. and North America. Wander around the park and interact with Looney Tunes and DC Comics characters, then test your bravery on thrill rides including Aquaman: Power Wave, a launch-style water coasts; Batman The Ride, and inverted roller coaster with five inversions; and Titan, the tallest coaster in Texas, among many others. There are plenty of family rides and rides for kids, too. Across the highway, the largest water park in North Texas, Hurricane Harbor, offers multiple water attractions, from pulse-pounding water slides to relaxing lazy rivers and family play.

Morgan’s Wonderland, San Antonio

Morgan’s Wonderland has the distinction of being one of the most unique amusement parks in the world. Created as a place where people of all abilities can share in the same experiences, the ultra-accessible™ park has something for everyone. Wheelchair swings, a carousel, the Whirling Wonder Ferris wheel, and the Wonderland Express that circles an eight-acre lake are among the options that encourage creativity and imagination to run wild.

SeaWorld and Aquatica, San Antonio

In addition to marveling at a variety of majestic sea creatures (and even interacting one-on-one with dolphins, sea lions, and Beluga whales), SeaWorld has become a destination for state-of-the-art thrill rides, too. Get soaked on the brand-new Catapult Falls with the world’s steepest flume drop or hop aboard the Texas Stingray, the longest, tallest, fastest wooden coaster in the state. At Aquatica, older kids can experience the thrills of Tonga Twister and Taumata Racer, while little ones enjoy water play, water slides, and safe splash areas.

Six Flags Fiesta Texas and Hurricane Harbor Amusement Park, San Antonio

Similar to its North Texas counterpart, Six Flags Fiesta Texas and its adjoining waterpark bring tons of fun to friends and families. Explore the DC Universe, the largest of its type anywhere in the U.S., the world’s tallest Joker Carnival of Chaos ride, and Wonder Woman Golden Lasso Coaster, the first-ever single-rail coaster on the planet. Experience even more special and seasonal events on your next trip to Texas!

Schlitterbahn Waterparks and Resort, New Braunfels and Galveston Island

Whether you’re in Central Texas or on the state’s southern coast, you can splish-splash the days away at two different Schlitterbahn Waterparks. Each features river rides, waterslides, and a variety of soaking-wet adventures that range from mild to wild — all with a focus on fun and beating the heat.

Wonder World Cave & Adventure Park, San Marcos

Not all adventures have to be man-made. Go on a fully guided tour of an earthquake-formed cave, embark on a train ride to a petting zoo with native Texas wildlife, and laugh your way through the Anti-Gravity House where things don’t act the way they’re supposed to. During the fall, the Haunted Cave Tour will test your mettle in a whole new way at Wonder World Cave & Adventure Park!

With plenty of Texas sunshine available, enjoying a day out at a top amusement or theme park is a fun way to create memories with family and friends!
